Some kind words

I wanted to let you know that DWP have already paid the compensation money. I know, I was shocked at their speed too! They were in contact with me by phone less than a week after sending them the Letters of Administration, and then the payment was made very shortly after. I really couldn’t believe it.

I can’t even begin to thank you for all the help you’ve given, both to me but also to G**** himself. He was so impressed with you when you went to see him and I’ve been no less impressed since he passed away. You’re so proactive and see everything through to the end which is just wonderful for us left behind.

Thank you so much again Trudie and your wonderful organisation. I have since spoken to someone who has been diagnosed with mesothelioma and given them details of HASAG, as they were unaware of any support.

My husband was very anxious that when he passed away I should let you know what a huge debt of gratitude he felt for the HASAG organisation. The wonderful Macmillan nurses at the East Surrey Hospital made the initial contact but after that you just took over.
My husband and indeed all our family cannot thank you and the whole HASAG team enough for all you did in those early days when he was first diagnosed with mesothelioma. You took up his case and all he had to do was sit back and let you do the work. This is not what he is used to and everything just fell into place thanks to you.

Just wanted to say thank you for inviting us along to the coffee morning today at the Holiday Inn Guildford.

We were both unsure of what to expect but found it so helpful to be able to speak to others at various points on the same journey. Ray particularly found it helpful to chat to the guy you introduced him to who himself has been through chemo. The help and support we have received from you has been invaluable so a massive thank you.

Look forward to coming along to another one.

Can’t thank Lynne and her sister enough for having the foresight to set up this amazing charity. It appeared at a critical time in our lives after almost a year of no support whatsoever. They are a chink of light at the end of a long dark tunnel; there to help in any way they can be it practical, financial or emotional I hope every sufferer finds them in time.

I wanted to thank you and the team for the great Christmas lunch event today, mum and I had a lovely time and everyone there seemed to be really enjoying themselves. I certainly think it did mum good to see that although all the people in the room were touched or affected by illness, there are happy and joyous times to be had! The food was great and we particularly enjoyed seeing Elvis in the building, you all did a great job organising everything!

Even though we have only been to 2 coffee mornings and the lunch since mum’s diagnosis and I am in no doubt that HASAG staff and volunteers and the HASAG events have been the most significant in helping her see that there is life after diagnosis, I’m very thankful you found us so soon after mum’s diagnosis and that she didn’t have time to fall into despair.

We wish you all a very merry Christmas and a happy and healthy New Year, we look forward to seeing you at the best coffee morning, with thanks and appreciation for all you do.

It is a great pleasure for me as a mesothelomia sufferer to donate £1,000 to HASAG, a great charity organisation. Lots of love to all HASAG staff especially Alison for all her help & support. I could not manage without them. My deepest thanks to my brilliant expert solicitor who successfully obtained my compensation. Carol Ghasemi

I wanted to personally thank you all at HASAG for the wonderful work that you do. HASAG has provided amazing and kind support and advice to my father this year as I’m sure you do to hundreds of other people every year at a time when they most need that kindness.

When I contacted HASAG, just after being diagnosed with Mesothelioma, I was all over the place, but you just took it in your stride and offered much needed support and direction after our initial phone call. I have now received notification from all the government departments that I will start to receive payments. It has removed one worry from us at this difficult time and we send our heart felt thanks for your help and understanding.

Your communication is brilliant, and your knowledge was fantastic. I really appreciate the help you gave us to get on the right tracks and with paperwork! It was so comforting knowing you were there. Thank you for always offering your time, even just to see if we were okay. You are doing amazing work.

HASAG’s effect on the family has been profoundly stabilising and I really appreciate their input. Their experiences, both personal and professional, have been an enormous help to us in coming to terms with the diagnosis and prognosis of my illness, and we are all in a much better place now to deal calmly with the eventualities. I am really grateful. HASAG made things so much easier for me.

You will never know the positive effect that first meeting achieved. It gave us hope and confidence that we were not alone and that others understood the situation and were able to do so much to help us. The future is uncertain, but I want you all to know how much we value your work. Thank you once again.

We really appreciate your time, support and kindness and it has given us a real boost to know you are a phone call away. What a fantastic charity and service.

We are so grateful for all your help it’s a huge weight off our minds and we have now been able to put our affairs in order so now we can just enjoy our limited time together. Without your help this would not have been possible, can’t thank you enough.

Thank you so much for coming round this morning and completing all the paperwork for the various benefit payments. It really does take away one of potential headaches when faced with this disease. But more than that you provided a ray of sunshine to the family in amongst the ocean of gloom that we had experienced to present. We know that results will be very difference for different people, but you managed to take away the monster element and it was good to have a normal chat. You do fabulous work and we are most grateful.

I didn’t expect HASAG and yourself in particular to be able to help me as I lived a long way away in Ross-on-Wye, but following an e mail you arranged to meet me at my home. You were very kind and understanding as well as being sympathetic and professional. You took my details and said that you would sort out all the issues with the HMRC and put in for the benefits that I could claim for. I have to say that this happened seamlessly in a very short space of time. You also advised that HASAG had a listing of very competent solicitors one of whom I should engage to review my case with possibility of making a claim.
